I use to think lifeguards were so cool!!
Growing up, I remember vividly how cool lifeguards looked, with their sunglasses full of authority, blowing the whistle (hanging on that long ref) at anyone who stepped out of line or would break “pool-rules”.
I secretly wished I could supervise and have that same power and authority to save lives. Flash forward- I do! & so do you!! You and I have the power to save people from living a life that is temporary, fleeting, moth eaten and rusted. We have been purposed to have eternal life. This was so hard for me to comprehend, but it is so profound when you are given the revelation of the gravity of this knowledge.
God, sent His son to pay for our sins so that we could believe through Him. The Bible states the only way to the Father is through Jesus.
Guess what? Jesus now resides in our hearts (when you accept Him as your Lord and Savior). We have the power to impart the life-saving revelation of the gospel and we can blow the "lifeguard whistle" when we see our fellow brethren drifting to deep & dangerous waters.
We can be a watchman so that no-one gets overlooked or unaccounted for. We can be cool, wear a pair of shades and blow that whistle and guard the life of others.
